The iconic American diner Denny’s is finally setting foot in Manila. It will open its first store at the newly opened Uptown Place Mall in Boniacio, Taguig with an estimated date of arrival sometime in the the first quarter of 2016.

While the diner has etched its place in American pop culture (remember when Katy Perry waitressed at a Denny's in North Carolina in 2012?), it remains most popular for its breakfast food items.

Metor Manila will finally be able to enjoy breakfast food items like Moons Over My Hammy (ham and scrambled egg sandwich with Swiss and American cheeses, served with hash browns), The Grand Slam (pancakes, bacon, sausages, and eggs), and T-steak and eggs along with 90% of its American menu.

According to Josh Boutwood, executive chef of The Bistro Group (TBG), which is bringing the 60-year-old brand in, “the concept of Denny’s is that they localize some of items on the menu. If needed, we might add tocino or tapa.”

TBG would like Denny’s to not just be a breakfast place. “The menu of Denny’s is very extensive and flexible so it can be a place where you can have breakfast at dinnertime or vice-versa,” Boutwood continues.

Along with Denny’s TBG will also bring Texas Roadhouse and Moe’s Southwest Grill to Metro Manila. “We’ve seen Filipinos’ evolving tastes and sophistication when it comes to food, which is why we are optimistic and confident that the market will embrace these restaurant concepts,” Jean Paul Manuud, president and chief operating office of TBG said.
